Butterfly Haven Holiday Event 2020
Butterfly Haven’s mission is to enrich the lives of children impacted by Foster Care and crisis situations. Butterfly Haven fills an important need in the community by equipping foster families so they can focus on the children in their care. Every child deserves to feel cared for and thought of, and Butterfly Haven strives to meet the needs of children in a thoughtful, personal way that will make a lasting impact.
When Butterfly Haven is notified of a child who is transitioning to foster care, the child is able to come to our Resource Center and receive things like clothing, toiletries, a toy to call their own, and other things needed depending on the age of the child. These items come in a suitcase, duffel bag or backpack, so the child knows that anything in that bag goes with them no matter where they go. This is one of many ways Butterfly Haven strives to help each child feel safe and secure.
Taking a whole-family approach, the organization provides a ReFuel Community of support to foster and adoptive families by connecting individuals and offering resources that will help these families navigate licensing agencies and state requirements.
The goal is to ease the transition by taking away some of the worry out of meeting the physical needs of the child so the child and parent can focus on getting home, settled, and bonding. Moments like these matter. The less chaos, the better it is for the child.
Butterfly Haven also helps families who are facing a Crisis (i.e. fire, medical, job loss, infestation/contamination, etc.) by helping provide basic living necessities and connecting individuals who need crisis care for their children to those who can provide that care. These families come to Butterfly Haven by Referral from local agencies and social services.
Butterfly Haven, Inc. is staffed completely by volunteers. We do not have a paid staff.
Our small group of volunteers have families and employment outside of our organization. Because of this, our resources are available by appointment only.
We do our very best to respond to messages, telephone calls and referrals as quickly as we possibly can. Please leave us a message. Generally our email and phone messages receive responses during our office hours.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to make a positive impact on the fostering and crisis care communities.
